A small market, on purpose.
Market Studio sits on Booth Street in Annandale. We're a ceramics studio and shop, and a few times a year we open the doors to a market that runs a little differently to most.
Twelve makers. That’s it.
What we’re trying to build
We started this because we know what it's like to make things alone. The studio can be a quiet place, and the leap from making something to putting it in front of a stranger is a genuinely difficult one.
Our markets exist to shorten that distance. Between makers and the people who'll live with their work, and between makers and each other. Some of the best things to come out of these days have been two stallholders getting talking over a slow half hour and figuring out something they could do together.
What we care about
Local first. Makers from the Inner West, greater Sydney and beyond, connecting with locals in our own neighbourhood and surrounds.
Made by hand. Work with a person behind it, and someone there to talk about it.
Small enough to be personal. Twelve stalls means every maker gets seen properly.
A mix, not a theme. Ceramics beside jewellery beside flowers beside bread. Different crafts in one space make for a special day.
Who we're looking for
-
Stall fee: $70 for the day
Stall Size: 1.8m (maximum table length. No backing display.
One brand per stall. Stalls can't be shared or split between businesses.
Twelve stalls maximum, so we curate for a mix of crafts
Public liability insurance required: a valid policy for $20 million, with an expiry date after the market date
Australian made. All products must be made and designed by you, the maker.
Bring your own setup: table, cover, display, and anything else your stall needs
Applications are reviewed individually. We'll be in touch either way
Ceramicists, jewellers, florists, bakers, textile artists, printmakers, candlemakers, woodworkers. If you make something with your hands and you'd like to sell it to people who live nearby, we'd like to hear from you.
New makers are welcome. You don't need a trading history or a big following. Some of our best stalls have been someone's first.
Applying
Fill in the form below. Tell us what you make and how you make it, and include a few photos of your work and your stall setup if you have one.
We read every application ourselves. If we can't fit you into a particular market, it's usually because we've already taken someone working in the same craft — so please do apply again for the next one.
